Conure

Behaviour:  Conures are  very clever, and loving parrots who frequently form close bonds with their owners. They are also energetic, clownish, and incredibly cuddly. They often dance, hang upside down, or hide in clothing because they are lively and inquisitive. Despite their devotion, they can be snappy and vocal (screeching).

Breeding notes:   The three to eight eggs that females lay necessitate diets high in calcium and careful observation for potential health hazards such as egg binding. Limiting the frequency of breeding to two clutches year and giving six months for recuperation in between is part of proper maintenance. Before breeding, pairs should be bonded (preening/feeding each other), ideally between the ages of three and four for Green Cheeks and five or more for larger species. To safeguard the hen’s health, limit the number of clutches to two per year. For six months in between clutches, remove the nest box. To avoid egg binding, provide the female in particular a diet high in calcium. Particularly with unskilled parents, the first clutch or even the second clutch may fail.
